Walking with you to uncover strength, heal shame, and embrace your unique story.
My Approach
My base belief and understanding that each individual has undeniable and significant worth underlies my approach in all that I do as a therapist. I understand that change and healing are hard, take time, and require patience. With this, my first goals in therapy are to establish a positive and trusting relationship with which we can embark on this challenging journey of self-growth and discovery together. In this process and throughout our time together, I hope to learn and uncover your strengths and pains, triumphs and disappointments and all of your beautiful uniqueness using compassion, curiosity, the talents you already have, and new skills too. It is my belief that shame is a master of pain and undesired behaviors. Thus, I use a trauma informed approach in all that I do to help root out shame and normalize our human experience.
Education
&
Experience
I earned my Master’s in Social Work from Boston University, specializing in clinical work, and my Bachelor’s in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from Brigham Young University. I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in various nonprofit settings, including refugee resettlement, residential care, and in-home programs. Before joining Spring Grove, I supported parents of children with mental health and behavioral challenges and co-led group therapy for youth. I am currently working toward clinical licensure under Tara Bates, LCSW-S.
I practice as a generalist with a focus on trauma, CBT, mindfulness, cross-cultural issues, and family systems. I work primarily with adults experiencing anxiety and depression. I view mental health holistically and emphasizes trauma-informed care. My goal is to help clients achieve personal growth, peace, and self-worth, believing deeply in each person’s inherent value and potential.
