Frequently Ask Questions About Children's Therapy Intensives
What is a children’s therapy intensive?
A children’s therapy intensive is a focused, short-term program where your child works with a licensed therapist for extended sessions over one or more days. Unlike weekly therapy, intensives allow us to go deeper, faster, helping children learn tools for anxiety, emotional regulation, ADHD, social skills, or trauma recovery in a supportive and personalized way.
How do I know if my child needs a therapy intensive?
Parents often seek an intensive when their child is:
-
Struggling with anxiety, tantrums, or big emotions that don’t improve with weekly sessions
-
Avoiding school, activities, or friends because of stress or fear
-
Having trouble with focus or impulse control due to ADHD or sensory issues
-
Going through a major change like divorce, loss, or bullying

If you’ve noticed patterns that keep repeating despite your efforts, an intensive can provide the breakthrough and momentum your child needs.
What happens during a children’s therapy intensive?
Each intensive is customized to your child’s needs, but typically includes:
-
One-on-one therapy with a child therapist
-
Hands-on coping tools for calming, grounding, and focus
-
Parent sessions so you can learn strategies to support progress at home
-
A written plan with next steps for ongoing support

Our goal is to give your child (and you) a clear path forward—not just insights, but practical skills you can use right away.
