Sara Dunn, MA

Sara Dunn, MA, LPC

Education & Experience

Sarah has a Master’s degree from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has experience in many different clinical settings such as a juvenile detention facility, an inpatient facility for adolescents, an alternative school, and a non- profit community agency. Sarah is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has worked extensively with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma and abuse. She also worked with families that have had involvement with child protective services. Sarah has facilitated therapeutic groups and life skills groups for teens with difficult past experiences and has worked with adolescents who have had illegal sexual behaviors. Sarah returned to the Houston area from Tulsa, OK with her husband to be closer to family.

Interests & Specialties

Sarah is certified in Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and specializes in working with children and adolescents with trauma and loss. Sarah is also trained in Child Parent Psychotherapy and infant mental health and can treat infants and very young children who have experienced a variety of traumas. Sarah believes that family support is a large factor in the healing and recovery of children and teens going through difficult times.

Kimberley Buckner-Manley

Education & Experience

Kimberley Buckner-Manley joined Spring Grove Counseling in March 2016 as a psychotherapist.  In her clinical practice, Kimberley delivers cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and other evidence-based treatments to adult and adolescent clients with a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and adjustment problems; such as anxiety, stress, depression, and relationship problems.

Kimberley earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Radio-Television (BFA) and a Master of Business Administration with a specialization in Finance (MBA) at Sam Houston State University. She completed post-graduate studies at Prairie View A&M University, where she earned a Master of Arts in Counseling (MA) and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Educational Leadership (PhD). Kimberley is a Licensed Professional Counselor, and a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors. Additionally, Kimberley has been a member of the American Counseling Association and the Texas Counseling Association. She is also a Certified Texas Educator and School Counselor.

Kimberley and her husband have one daughter.

Kimberley has 17 years of professional experience in the banking/finance, insurance, and education industries.  Integrating her collective expertise and experience in these industries with mental health, she specializes in and has a passion for helping business executives and education professionals lead more balanced, fulfilling lives.

Kimberley has extensive training in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy; a modality of therapy specifically tailored to meet the needs of children and adolescents experiencing emotional and psychological difficulties as a result of a trauma.  Kimberley also has training in Play Therapy, where she uses the therapeutic influences of play to help clients prevent or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development.

James Mena, LPC

Education & Experience

James has a Masters degree in Psychology from the University of West Georgia and over 24 years of counseling experience in a variety of settings. His experience includes counseling in a University setting, Employee Assistance, the non-profit sector and the geriatric population. Treatment modalities include, couples, marriage and family, Autism Spectrum disorders, all facets of drug treatment, sex addictions, interactive therapy, solution-focused therapy, and professional coaching.
 
He has been married to his wife Cindy for 25 years, and they have four children together.

James enjoys all facets of human interaction particularly the bonds that tie people together in marriage relationships. He also enjoys the challenge of working with employee/supervisor relationships to formulate strategic interventions to promote effective workplace interactions.

 

Heidi Grover, LPC

Education & Experience

Heidi is a Licensed Professional Counselor who began her practice and education at Brigham Young University. She is originally from the country of Panama and fluent in Spanish. Over the years Heidi has worked with Child Protective Services, where she helped created and managed a summer school program for children with various mental illnesses. She has also facilitated groups dealing with substance use and everyday youth struggles. Heidi has also worked in a mobile crisis unit where she provided support in therapy in different homes in a variety of communities.

Heidi is married and has four young children, including a set of twins.

Heidi specializes in working with children, adolescents, and teens with behavioral issues, stage of life problems, and experiencing any trauma or loss. Heidi also specializes in working with women who are experiencing depression and anxiety. She focuses on trauma-focus therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, grief counseling, adoption related therapy, coping skills for anxiety, and communication skills.

Gene Harvie, MSW, LCSW

Education & Experience

Gene has a Bachelors degree in Psychology, a Masters degree in Clinical Social Work and a Post-masters diploma in advanced Clinical social work practice from the University of Calgary, Canada. He has 19 years counseling experience, 3 of which he was a clinical supervisor for a team of 12 therapists.  He has worked with people from all walks of life, and has helped people challenged by almost every problem you can imagine.  He has taught clinical social work at the masters level, and has been published in a peer review journal.

Gene has been extensively trained in Solution-focused therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy. Over the years of witnessing effective therapeutic practice, he has developed an interest in therapeutic neuroplasty, the positive impact of psychotherapy on neural connections in the brain. Gene and his wife have been married for 20 years and have two children.

Jennifer Morgan, LPC

Education & Experience

Jennifer has earned a Bachelor's of Science in Psychology and Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Our Lady of the Lake University. Jennifer is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Autism Specialist with passion for children. Her diverse professional experience has shaped her career as an advocate for children, schools and the youngest victims of battered family systems. This also includes social skill development, and interpersonal skills.

Interests & Specialties

Jennifer  specializes in working with all ages of  Autism, ADD, ADHD and family situations that arise as a result of mental health disorders. She works with a wide range of ages of young people (children to young adults) with behavioral issues, emotional disturbances, academic issues, anxiety, and esteem issues. She has extensive knowledge of working with school districts, developing behavioral alternatives and working with special service agencies.

Outside of work Jennifer likes to spend time with her family and trying new things that Houston has to offer, she enjoys the outdoors, games, and the fine arts.

Debbie Workman, LPC

Education & Experience

Debbie has a Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management from California State University and a Masters degree in Counseling from Sam Houston State University. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and a Certified Family Educator Specialist. Over the past 14 years, Debbie has worked extensively with displaced families from a variety of ethnicities, backgrounds, and mental health issues to establish stability and self-sufficiency. She has provided community education through non-profit organizations on mental health issues affecting teens, adults, and families.

Debbie and her husband have three children and four grandchildren.

Interests & Specialties

Debbie specializes in trauma due to sexual, physical, and emotional abuse, marital and family issues, sex addiction and co-dependency, depression, anxiety, and family of origin issues. She also takes an interest in helping those suffering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, postpartum depression, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, as well as coaching patients on stress management.

 

Teresa Mohr, LMFT, RPT

Education & Experience

Teresa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and Registered Play Therapist (RPT). She received her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology with a specialization in child and adolescent treatment from John F. Kennedy University in California. She has worked with children and families since 2004 in a variety of clinical settings.
Teresa has training in a range of therapeutic modalities, including Trauma-Focused Integrated Play Therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, Filial Therapy and Theraplay. As a Registered Play Therapist, she also has extensive training in expressive therapies such as play, sand and art.

Interests & Specialties

Teresa enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults in both individual and group therapy. She also enjoys working with couples and families to enhance communication and strengthen relationships. She is passionate about using her experience in expressive therapies and helping her clients access their own inner resources to address a wide variety of emotional challenges, including anxiety, depression, attachment, trauma, and loss.

Irina Zilberfayn, LPC

Education & Experience

Irina Zilberfayn is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience working with children, teens, families and adults addressing emotional issues, behavior and school difficulties, trauma, life transitions and mental illness. She is fluent in Russian.

Irina’s experience combines work in different settings, such as mental health outpatient clinic, private practice, Houston ISD schools and large Employee Assistance Programs.

Interests & Specialties

Irina tailors her therapeutic approach to each client using cognitive behavioral intervention techniques and also incorporates elements of play and art therapy, which is effective with young children. Her main goal is to work with families through connection, finding an individualized approach for each child to assist with challenging issues, ultimately bringing positive change to their families.

Sonal Rana, MD

Education & Experience

Dr. Rana went to Stanford University for her undergraduate education. She pursued her medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco. She completed four years of adult psychiatry training at the University of California, Los Angeles’ Semel Institute of Human Behavior and Neuroscience and later returned to Stanford to complete her child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship. She is board certified in adult psychiatry and recently took her child psychiatry board exams. After completing her fellowship, she worked as the medical director for the intensive outpatient program for adolescents and families at the Bay Area Children’s Association, a non-profit agency in California. She has specialized training in mentalization-based therapy, structural family therapy, family based therapy for eating disorders, play-based therapies, interpersonal, parent-child interaction therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapies for children and adolescents. She has facilitated adolescent groups on depression and anxiety, parent workshops on childhood anxiety, as well as, multifamily groups designed to improve family communication and cohesiveness. She has also provided an in-service on self-injury for social workers and therapists working in the Los Angeles Unified School District.

Dr. Rana has worked with children, adolescents, and adults with diagnoses ranging from anxiety and depression, to bipolar disorder, eating disorders (anorexia nervosa and bulimia), disruptive behavior disorder, personality disorders (mainly Borderline Personality Disorder), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, high functioning autism, and schizophrenia. As a psychiatrist, she believes that medications are a useful adjunct to therapeutic modalities designed to bolster families and individuals. She moved to Houston, Texas in May 2015 and is excited to be joining the Spring Grove Counseling family.

Dr. Nishan Adihetty, M.D.

Education & Experience

Dr. Adihetty achieved his Medical degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. He pursued his General Psychiatry residency training at Northeast Ohio Medical University, Cleveland clinic affiliated Akron General Hospital and SUMMA Akron City hospital. Then he joined Akron Children’s Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Fellowship training program and graduated in 2010.
 
Dr. Adihetty moved to Houston in 2010 and joined The Harris Center NW clinic as an outpatient psychiatrist. Then he moved to The Harris Center NE clinic as the Medical Director. He also works as a relief psychiatrist for the Neuropsychiatric center at Houston Medical Center.
 
Dr. Adihetty is Board Certified in General psychiatry and Child and Adolescent psychiatry.

Dr. Adihetty comes with rich experience in treating wide array of psychiatric illness in children, adolescents and adults.  He is specialized in treating Bipolar disorder (manic-depressive illness), Depressive disorders, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective disorders, Anxiety disorders including Post traumatic stress disorder, social anxiety, generalized anxiety  & Obsessive compulsive disorders, Dual diagnosis, Substance induced mood, anxiety & psychotic disorders. He is also experienced in providing medication management to patients with Borderline Personality disorder.  
 
He is also specialized in treating Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD/ADD), Mood disorders and Anxiety disorders in children and Adolescents.
